Table redo!

For those of you that know me well you know how much I love me some Craigslist! It took me awhile of looking daily but finally I stumbled upon this gem.

I bought it off an older couple who had it for 30 years! They were moving to Alaska and needed to lighten their load. I can only imagine the stories this piece of furniture could tell.

When I purchased it I had all intentions of changing its appearance...I just didn't know how. It is very rare that I find free time and this weekend was perfect weather conditions for a redo.

See my pictures below at my new piece of living room furniture.

before..

Coat one. It was late on Friday night when I started...

...after applying two coats of paint I sanded it down to give it a distressed look.

The perfect place for my laptop and printer!

The color is called Gypsy Teal. I'm going to glaze it in the next coming week and get new handles.
(taking these pictures reminds me on how bad a need a good camera. Apologies iPhone.)

high five to the weekend!

Was it just me or was this week killer?? Wednesday felt like Friday and Friday felt like this week had lapped into another. Between work, Landon's baseball games and dog sitting Miller that I visit sometimes twice a day. My house chores have taken a backseat to everything on my weekday agenda. With loads of laundry that need to be folded, dish's that need to be put away, unmade beds and floors that need some attention. I demand to have a somewhat relaxing weekend!

First order of business...I rented some Redbox movies last night. FYI: The Vow is an awesome movie! But, did I honestly expect anything that has Channing Tatum in it not to be??  Next...I'm hiding Miller, a 115lb German Shepherd, in my apartment (that has a 15lb pet limit) so I don't have to make an early trip out the door.

We don't have to be at the baseball field until 10AM. Gives me plenty of time to relax...drink some coffee and get Miller back home. After the ball field my agenda includes some dog park running and Amish farm fresh produce shopping. *deep breath* and R-E-L-A-X.....

That's what I'm going to keep reminding myself today. Relax.

I'm in love with Chevron!

Before the wonderful world of Pintrest when someone would say Chevron...I would think of the gas station, of course! Never this fabulous print. It makes me want to transform my apartment walls to wonderful bright colors. But, I don't think my landlord with think so kindly of me doing that.

So for now I'll just give it a touch here and there with some throw pillows and such.

Even making its appearance as my blogs new wallpaper.

Here are some inspirational  pictures of my favorite ways to decorate using Chevron.

minus the dear antlers ;)
